Team Work...construction!

At the start of half term it was Mrs Larcombe's birthday. To celebrate Penguins class designed and built her her very own aeroplane, just like the one from her favourite children's programme, 'Come Outside!' We looked carefully at photographs of the aeroplane, listed its main features and then worked as a team to build it. Everyone contributed- great teamwork! (And Mrs Larcombe thoroughly enjoyed being 'Auntie Mabel' for the morning...!)

Forest Week!

We had a great afternoon in the environmental area today! The children enjoyed many different activities such as: den building, concocting some lovely recipes in the mud kitchen; searching for signs of Autumn and recording these on the I Pads; making clay hedgehogs and hibernation homes for real hedgehogs! They have also started to peel and chop vegetables in preparation for making our vegetable soup later in the week...

Exploring colour mixing...

Yesterday the children really enjoyed exploring colour mixing and mark making with marbles and paint. They worked as a team to create a large marble painting and then in pairs to further explore this method of painting. Some even went on to make prints from the artwork!
